Dear Son

I found a card the other day in the store and this really hits home. I do not see an author to give credit to.

Dear Son,

Ever since you were born I worried and wondered about whether or not I was being the best parent I could be.

Did I make you feel important?
Did we find enough time for the little things that live on in happy memories---
like laughter, and hugs, and "just-between-us"moments?

And, even when we disagreed, did you always know I loved you?

Of all the things in my life that I might have or could have or should have done differently, there's one thing I'd never change, and that's the having you for a son....

If I didn't always find a way to say it, I hope I always showed it...
I'm proud to be your parent, and I love you, Son.

  1. Awesome poem!

From one alienared mother to another.. I know how hard that was to post!

  2. Thank you Louise for your comment.

It was difficult to post because I only wish that my son could read that and really understand that those words come from the heart. I never give up hope!

  3. I am so glad I found this web site. I am an alianated parent and not a day goes by that I do not hurt. It seems to me that the court listens to the person who has custody and that person is constantly lying and alienated my son under the guise of "best interest of the child". I can't eat, sleep and enjoy life like I use to since this has happened to me.

It is going on three years now. The other day, I wrote a poem through my son. It is hard, but we have to believe someday everything will be alright... some day.

Do It For Me Mommy, Please.
